The Inspiration Behind
MeetMyBrian

It all started when the wife of a senior resident named Brian, contacted me at work to ask when she could visit her beloved husband. Working in the field as a staff nurse, I noticed an increasing difficulty for healthcare and senior residencies to balance the well-being of their vulnerable older adults and patients while ensuring their emotional needs are met with visits from their loved ones.

Allowing an unlimited and unrestricted number of visitors’ entry to senior and clinical or nursing facilities places the most vulnerable at risk. As many care organisations struggle to develop risk assessments or manually keep track of visitor comings and goings, I was inspired to create an exclusive web and mobile application for care organisations to balance the safety and convenience of its visitors. With the memory of Brian and his wife that initially sparked my idea, I decided to call the app MeetMyBrian

Visitor sign-in app?

Since November 11th, 2021, it has been compulsory for all external visitors entering care homes to be fully vaccinated – which will come into force from April 1st, 2022.

MeetMyBrian Visitor sign-in app is an iOS app for care homes to get 100% compliance with recent changes in the law over how the risk of Covid-19 is managed in care homes.

How does MeetMyBrian help care homes get 100% compliance with the law and make things easier for staff and external visitors?

Care homes can pre-register the details of usual/frequent visitors and record their vaccination status. Once a visitor is verified, the app will send them a passcode and QR code that visitors can use to enter the app at the reception upon entry.

Once a care home has approved a visitor and issued a passcode/QR code that can be used to enter all the care homes registered under the same company.

Adhoc visitors using the online form instead of passcode/QR code will be asked to create a memorable word that can be used to sign out after the visit. If a visitor leaves the building without being signed out, staff can manually do this.
